Dancing Shaman

This is a piece of work made of the detritus of my painting with encaustic paints. A fragile little assemblage of pigmented wax. The title’s been changing in part because I’ve done different sets of photos and they catch the character differently. My intent wasn’t figurative, I was exploring how it could stand on it’s own and balance with a feeling of movement. This balance and movement led to something that seems like a figure – although far from human anatomy.
